After a mishap between a couple patrons at our restaurant I realized that security cameras could really help at our business in Melbourne, FL . So I purchased a 4 camera DVR system from ATP Alarms. I soon realized that I really needed more than just 4 cameras and was pleasantly surprised when I had them price out a 16 camera system.

While my first inclination to make the purchase was motivated by a fight that broke out in our establishment, I came to appreciate the fact that I could watch the many facets of my business. I placed cameras at strategic break in points. I also wanted a good shot of our front and back door, where everyone enters the building. Now I have good images of everyone and who knows what I’ll need it for? When you are in a bar / restaurant business, you can have a lot happen in your place. There can also be theft from your own employees. A security camera system recording to a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) keeps honest people honest, as well as a visual record. Now we don’t have to remember what happened we just look at the instant replay.

I chose a DVR with 3 terabytes of hard drive storage. With cameras being affordable now at HD resolution levels, they use up a lot of space on the hard drive on a DVR, still with the 3 TB option I have weeks of 24/ 7 surveillance to review at my leisure. Another feature I particularly like is the being able to access the DVR from the internet. I can even use my smart phone to watch the business while I’m not there and actually search the DVRs calendar for a particular event time and watch the event. Most importantly its super easy to use. If I want to see what happened last night at 11:45PM in the kitchen I simply go to the calendar of the DVR, select the date and time and push the play button on my smart phone and watch the video play in HD.

As for the cameras they have HD resolution , vandal resistant , they are outdoor rated and capable of seeing in the dark and they are the standard at ATP Alarms . Adding security cameras to our business made sense and were a great addition to the layers of security one needs for peace of mind.
