Connecticut Home Security Must Haves

What are the Connecticut Home Security Must Haves?

Wow—what a winter (I am writing from the North East). That was a lie. I am writing from Park City, Utah. Just when Connecticut was getting some warm weather—55 degrees—I jumped on a plane to go skiing in Utah. Do you know what the funny part is? I have never skied—not once. My girlfriend’s family invited me on a trip and you can never turn down a free flight and shelter, right? With that said, the North East had a BRUTAL winter—lots of snow and lots of cold weather. If you live in the North East, your home alarm system needs the below products. This Blog is about Connecticut Home security must haves. Already have a system? We can easily add these devices on.

First , you need a low temperature detector . A temperature detector will alert you when the temperature in your home drops to a certain degree . You will receive a phone call from our UL listed central station explaining that your detector went off and if you would like anyone else to be notified. If you are hours away from home (in my current situation, being on the other side of the country in Utah), this allows you to call a friend or family member to head over to your phone to turn off your water and help fix the problem. This has prevented thousands of dollars in damages to homes. In fact, my uncle’s home was saved this past winter as a result of ATP Alarms alerting him that his temperature detector was going off . By the time my aunt arrived at the home, the temperature was 40 degrees.

Second , you need a switch tied into the pilot for your furnace . If your furnace pilot goes off, your furnace will not work, thus failing to heat your house. Having this device in addition to the low temperature detector is a great way to ensure that your home will never suffer from pipes freezing. In addition, our Connecticut office has a partnership with Arbor Oil (Cheshire, Connecticut) where with the customer’s permission, we can notify their service department right away.

At ATP Alarms , we strive to be proactive in protecting our customers and their livelihood. By adding the above devices to your current system, your home’s infrastructure will be better protected. Combine that with an ATP Alarms security system with our well known yard signs and decals and you will experience the peace of mind that comes with having an ATP Alarms security system .

Security alarms can communicate via internet (hardwired or WiFi depending on the system), phone line, or cellular. Often security alarms have two communication paths—one that is primary and one that is backup. ATP Alarms encourages all customers to have a back up form of communication in the event the primary fails. We believe that the best is setup for fast and reliable communication is internet/WiFi primary with cellular backup. We feel that the internet communication is the fastest while the cellular is most reliable. Traditional alarms relied on phone lines to communicate.
