Richmond Glen: The Smart Project

American Total Protection is thrilled to announce that it will be partnering with Calcagni Real Estate and Brodach Richmond, LLC. to design one of the “smartest” developments in New Haven County. In December of 2013, Calcagni Real Estate and Brodach Richmond, LLC. approached American Total Protection to discuss their most recent development: Richmond Glen. The development, which is geared toward those 55 and older, is nestled in the heart of Cheshire. The community will consist of 41 private homes treated to perfection.

Lawrence Coassin Jr. (“Rence”) offered an explanation of how the partnership came to be, “In December of 2013, Steve Calcagni and Jay Brodach approached ATP Alarms about taking their most recent development to the next level. They envisioned ‘Richmond Glen: The Smart Project’.” After discussing the vision with Calcagni Real Estate’s project leaders, Marilyn Rock and Pat O’Neill, the “Smart Project” came to fruition.

The homes, which are settled in 32 acres of secluded, private and pristine nature, are already luxurious. ATP Alarms will be installing locks, lighting controls, temperature controls, home security and even a camera in model home on site 7. As Coassin explained, “With the community consisting of those 55 and older, Steve and Jay wanted to design a home where the residents could live efficiently and not worry about the small burdens of life. Residents of Richmond Glen will save up to 20 percent on future energy bills because of the equipment already inside of these homes. To my knowledge, there is not a development like this in the state of Connecticut.”

Future residents will be able to control their locks, lights, thermostats, and alarm system with a click of a button. The technology inside the homes at Richmond Glen will be cutting edge, but extremely easy to use.

Project leaders, Marilyn Rock and Pat O’Neill, along with Rence Coassin of American Total Protection, will be showing prospective buyers all the features this smart home has to offer.

Security alarms can communicate via internet (hardwired or WiFi depending on the system), phone line, or cellular. Often security alarms have two communication paths—one that is primary and one that is backup. ATP Alarms encourages all customers to have a back up form of communication in the event the primary fails. We believe that the best is setup for fast and reliable communication is internet/WiFi primary with cellular backup.
